Legion Commander vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Seeing an Ursa pick often makes Legion Commander a very natural response. Ursa's entire purpose is to build up Fury Swipes stacks with a flurry of attacks from Overpower, but Legion Commander turns this strength into a fatal weakness. A well-timed Duel locks Ursa in place, and when combined with Blade Mail, it forces him to inflict his own massive burst damage right back onto himself. Even before a Duel, Press the Attack can cleanse the slow from Ursa's Earthshock, denying him the control he needs to set up a kill and allowing Legion Commander to dictate the engagement.

This dynamic shapes the entire mid-game. Once Legion Commander has her Blink Dagger, Ursa can no longer farm safely or confidently lead a Roshan attempt. He becomes the primary target, an easy-to-find source of bonus damage for LC. The Ursa player is forced onto the defensive, relying on teammates for saves or buying items that compromise his own damage potential. For the Legion Commander's team, this creates a ton of space, as their carry can neutralize the enemy's main physical threat on a cooldown, often turning fights before they even begin.
