Leshrac vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Trying to burn down a core with sustained magic damage is how Leshrac wins fights, but this plan falls apart against Wraith King. Leshrac often has to expend his entire mana pool using Pulse Nova and other spells to secure the first kill on an enemy. Against Wraith King, this massive commitment results in him simply triggering Reincarnation. When the king gets back up with a fresh health bar, Leshrac is usually left completely empty and helpless, having spent everything for a kill that didn't stick.

This core interaction defines the entire matchup. Mid-game fights become a nightmare for the Leshrac player, who is forced to either ignore a rampaging Wraith King or waste all his resources on a target that effectively resets the fight. To succeed, Leshrac has to play a totally different game, focusing on split-pushing and avoiding direct confrontations. Meanwhile, Wraith King can confidently run at Leshrac, knowing that a single Wraithfire Blast is often enough to secure a kill he's uniquely built to survive.
