Lina vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a Necrophos is a dangerous game for Lina. Her entire combo of Light Strike Array into Laguna Blade is designed to delete a single target, but Necrophos has a crucial defensive tool in Ghost Shroud. Popping Shroud makes him immune to her physical damage but also amplifies incoming magic damage. This creates a tense standoff. If Lina lands her full spell combo while Necrophos is in his Shroud, she can often secure the kill. However, if he uses it to dodge her right-clicks and gets a heal off, he can usually survive her initial assault and turn the tables.

This duel comes down to who gets the jump and executes better. Early on, a well-played Lina can often kill Necrophos before he has the items to survive her damage. As the game progresses, Necrophos becomes much harder to solo kill, and his Reaper's Scythe becomes a constant threat to Lina if she ever gets low. Fights between them are about positioning and cooldowns. If Lina catches Necrophos without his Shroud, she can win. If Necrophos survives her opening salvo, his sustained damage from Heartstopper Aura and Death Pulse will usually overwhelm her.
