Lina vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Dropping Lina's full combo on an Ogre Magi often feels like a waste. His naturally high health and armor mean he can frequently survive the initial burst from Light Strike Array and Laguna Blade. Once Lina has used her spells, she's a fragile target with long cooldowns. Ogre Magi can then turn the fight around with his own stuns and slows. He doesn't even need to kill her himself; simply surviving her initial volley and locking her down is enough to let his teammates collapse on her. This makes him a reliable sponge for her primary damage output.

Across the game, this dynamic forces Lina to play more carefully. In lane, Ogre's constant Ignite spam can make her life difficult. In teamfights, she can't simply target the first enemy she sees. Instead, she's pressured to either wait for Ogre Magi to be out of position or buy a Black King Bar sooner than she might want to. Ogre's whole plan is to absorb that first big hit for his team and then become a problem. While a farmed Lina can certainly still kill him, Ogre consistently makes her job harder than most other supports would.
