How this matchup plays

Getting initiated on by Sven is often a death sentence for a fragile hero like Lina. His stun gives him enough time to activate God's Strength and close the distance. Even if Lina survives the initial jump, Sven’s Warcry provides movement speed for his team to chase and armor to blunt her right-clicks. Lina relies on a full magic burst combo to kill targets, but Sven can frequently build items that allow him to survive the damage from Laguna Blade, leaving him free to turn the fight around once her spells are on cooldown.

The matchup often hinges on who gets the drop on whom and what items are available. An early-game Lina can bully Sven out of lane with her range and spell pressure. Later, her success depends on catching him without Black King Bar or using her Light Strike Array defensively to create space. For Sven, the game plan is clearer: farm a BKB, find Lina, and run at her. This gives him a more reliable path to victory in mid-game teamfights, but good positioning and team support can still let Lina play the game.
