Lina vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down Tidehunter with Light Strike Array often fails because of his Kraken Shell. The passive dispel means Lina can't reliably land her full burst combo on him, making her Laguna Blade feel wasted if she tries to focus him down. This forces her to choose between holding her spells or using them on a different hero, who might not be the highest priority target. Tidehunter's natural tankiness also means he can absorb a lot of her damage even if she does get her spells off, making him a very unappealing hero to try and burst at the start of a fight.

In teamfights, Tidehunter can walk forward and create space, knowing he's a difficult hero for Lina to control or kill quickly. This allows him to get into position for a good Ravage without being blown up first. Lina's best response is to ignore Tidehunter and try to find a better target on his team, but his job is to stand in her way and be a nuisance. This dynamic doesn't shut Lina down completely, but it does complicate her role as a primary damage dealer, forcing her to play around the one hero who isn't afraid of her full combo.
