Lone Druid vs Techies

How this matchup plays

The decision to pick Lone Druid can be risky if Techies is still in the pool, as their core strategies are directly opposed. Lone Druid wants to use his Spirit Bear to apply constant pressure on buildings and control map space. Techies excels at denying that same space with mines. The Spirit Bear is a perfect target for Techies; it's a single, valuable unit that can be stopped by a Stasis Trap or worn down by Sticky Bombs while attacking a tower. This forces the bear to play passively or risk a long death timer, slowing down Lone Druid's entire game plan.

This conflict defines every objective fight. A Lone Druid wants to send his bear forward to tank a tower, but Techies can make the entire approach a hazard zone. The bear must either waste precious time clearing mines one by one or risk getting caught and killed, which usually ends the push. For Lone Druid to succeed, his team has to commit extra resources and time to de-mining. Techies simply makes Lone Druid's primary job of sieging buildings much more difficult and costly than it should be.
