Marci vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a target with Unleash often ends badly for Marci. Necrophos can respond to her initiation by activating Ghost Shroud, making himself immune to her flurry of physical attacks. This completely stalls her go, leaving her awkwardly standing next to a target she cannot damage. During this time, Marci is slowed and takes amplified magic damage from Death Pulse, all while Heartstopper Aura continuously drains her health. She has no native way to deal with the ethereal form, which turns her primary damage window into a self-destructive trap.

This dynamic forces Marci to play around Necrophos for the entire game. She either has to find a different target to jump, or hope she can bait out Ghost Shroud before committing her ultimate. A patient Necrophos can hold his cooldowns, positioning himself to punish Marci’s aggression on his allies. If she dives too deep and gets low from return damage and the constant aura, Reaper’s Scythe provides a simple and effective way to secure her death and keep her out of the next fight for longer.
