Marci vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Jumping on a Silencer looks straightforward, but it's often a trap for Marci. Her entire burst combo relies on a sequence of spells, making her an easy target for Last Word. If she tries to use Rebound to close the gap, she can find herself silenced before she can even use Dispose. The much larger problem is Global Silence. An aware Silencer player can completely shut down Marci’s Unleash from anywhere on the map, turning her big teamfight moment into a wasted cooldown. This forces Marci to play reactively instead of being the aggressor.

This threat puts the burden of initiation on the Marci player for the whole game. She has to either bait out the Global Silence, hope it gets used on an ally, or build an early Black King Bar to ensure her ultimate goes off. A patient Silencer will often hold his ultimate specifically for her. Marci's best chance is to get the drop on Silencer and kill him before he can press his button, but this isn't always possible. Because Silencer can dictate the timing of Marci's most important spell, he tends to have the upper hand in their engagements.
