Marci vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target as Marci gets completely shut down by Vengeful Spirit. When Marci jumps in with Rebound to start her combo, Venge can instantly use Nether Swap on the target, pulling them to safety. Even more punishing, she can swap Marci herself, isolating her deep in the enemy team and turning the gank completely around. Marci wants to control a hero's position for a few seconds, but Nether Swap is a much stronger and more disruptive repositioning tool. Wave of Terror also strips armor, making Marci surprisingly easy to kill once she’s caught.

This dynamic forces Marci to play in a way that feels unnatural for the hero. She can’t reliably initiate on high-priority targets because Vengeful Spirit is always waiting to turn the engage. Marci’s team has to play reactively, waiting for Swap to be on cooldown before they can make a move, giving Venge’s team control over the tempo of fights. Marci ends up needing to build much more defensively or wait for someone else to start the fight, which severely limits her impact on the game.
