How this matchup plays

Jumping on Viper is a race against the clock for Marci. Her entire kit is built for a quick, decisive burst using Rebound and Unleash. Viper’s abilities, however, are designed to punish exactly that. Corrosive Skin and Poison Attack slow her down and chip away at her health, while Nethertoxin turns off her Sidekick lifesteal and makes her much easier to kill if she can't finish the job instantly. This creates a fundamental tension: Marci wants the fight to be over in seconds, while Viper wins if it lasts any longer.

This dynamic means the game often comes down to positioning and timing. Marci has to find an angle to get the jump on Viper, ideally with a Black King Bar to ignore his slows and magic damage for a few crucial seconds. If she can catch him out of position, she can often secure the kill before his damage-over-time effects become a problem. Viper’s goal is to do the opposite: stay safe, force Marci to commit into his team, and create a zone where he can kite her effectively. Whoever dictates the terms of the engagement usually comes out ahead.
