How this matchup plays

Thinking you can pop Pierce the Veil to survive a gank from Night Stalker is a common mistake. He doesn't care about your physical immunity; his real threat comes from Void's slow and the long silence from Crippling Fear. Night Stalker's entire kit is designed to get on top of a target and prevent them from reacting. Muerta needs her spells to create distance or fight back with The Calling, and being silenced by Crippling Fear leaves her completely helpless. She can't cast, she can't use items, and she has no way to stop him from running her down.

Once the first night hits, the game changes completely. Night Stalker can hunt Muerta anywhere on the map, especially since she's a slow hero without a built-in escape. He forces her to play defensively and rely entirely on her team for vision and protection. While Muerta wants to farm up key items to survive, Night Stalker's power spike comes much earlier. He uses this timing advantage to repeatedly gank her, snowballing off those kills and severely delaying her ability to come online as a carry.
