Muerta vs Outworld Destroyer

How this matchup plays

Facing each other often feels like a duel over cooldowns and timing. Muerta's ultimate, Pierce the Veil, lets her unload a huge amount of magic damage, but she becomes unable to attack Outworld Destroyer if he uses Astral Imprisonment on himself. More importantly, he can use that same Astral Imprisonment to save whichever ally she is trying to burst down, completely wasting her ultimate's duration. On the other hand, a well-timed ultimate from Muerta can delete a key hero before Outworld Destroyer can even react. Sanity's Eclipse also remains a huge threat to Muerta at all stages of the fight, ethereal or not.

This dynamic creates a constant mind game in teamfights. The entire engagement can pivot on whether Muerta can bait out the Astral or if Outworld Destroyer can anticipate her target. Outside of these big ultimate face-offs, Outworld Destroyer can be a lane bully, making it difficult for Muerta to get a strong start. Neither hero truly shuts the other down. Instead, they force each other to play cautiously, waiting for the other to misuse a key ability. Success comes down to who gets to fight on their own terms, which can easily go either way.
