Muerta vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Fighting into Clockwerk often comes down to who he can trap. He excels at isolating a single target with Hookshot and Power Cogs, which is normally lethal for a fragile carry. Muerta, however, can answer his initiation by using Pierce the Veil, becoming ethereal and immune to the physical damage from Battery Assault. She can still be stunned and held in place by the Cogs, but this buys her team critical seconds to counter-initiate or for her to fight back with magical damage. The entire exchange hinges on whether her ultimate is available when he decides to jump.

This creates a standoff for much of the game. Clockwerk will constantly try to find Muerta out of position or catch her when her ultimate is on cooldown. Muerta, in turn, must play from the back lines and track Clockwerk’s movements, holding her ultimate for the moment he commits. A successful jump can still spell her doom if she's too far from her team for a save. The lane advantage is often decided by which hero has better support, and teamfights are determined by who has better vision and reaction time.
