Muerta vs Riki

How this matchup plays

Getting silenced inside Riki's Smoke Screen is a huge problem for Muerta. The ability prevents her from using Pierce the Veil to turn ethereal and fight back, while the miss chance simultaneously guts her physical damage. Since Riki can initiate from invisibility with Blink Strike, he almost always gets to open the fight on his terms. This immediately puts Muerta on the back foot before she can cast a single spell, forcing her to react to his aggression rather than setting her own tempo.

This dynamic forces Muerta to adjust her game plan. She has to play more defensively, farm in safer areas with good vision, and often build an early defensive item to survive Riki’s burst. If Muerta can anticipate the jump, or if Riki mistimes his assault in a teamfight, she has more than enough damage to kill a fragile Riki once the silence ends. The matchup revolves around Riki's ability to find clean initiations versus Muerta's ability to position safely and survive that opening attack.
