Muerta vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Picking Muerta into a Silencer is a difficult choice, as her entire pattern is disrupted. Muerta wants to chain her spells together, like using The Calling to set up her ultimate or other damage. Silencer's kit is designed to punish exactly that. Arcane Curse makes her pay for every spell cast, while Last Word silences her after her first move, preventing any follow-up. This breaks her rhythm and leaves her unable to execute her full combo. The biggest problem is Global Silence, which can be used to initiate on her, preventing her from ever activating her ultimate to become ethereal and survive a gank.

Throughout the game, this pressure forces Muerta to play defensively. In teamfights, she is constantly threatened by an instant Global Silence that leaves her completely vulnerable. The Silencer player's goal is to force a fight and use their ultimate before Muerta can react. In response, Muerta has to build items like a Black King Bar much sooner than she'd prefer, often delaying the damage items she needs to be a threat. This timing delay gives Silencer and his team a significant window to control the map and end the game before she can come online.
