Muerta vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Thinking Pierce the Veil makes you safe from Spirit Breaker is a critical error. While Muerta becomes immune to his physical damage, she is not immune to his stuns. A Charge of Darkness followed by Nether Strike will lock her down for a very long time, even while she's ethereal. Spirit Breaker’s whole job is to provide this lockdown, holding Muerta in place so his team can follow up with their own magic damage or disables. He completely prevents her from being able to stand her ground and right-click during teamfights, which is how she wins games.

This dynamic makes the entire map dangerous for Muerta. Pushing out a lane or farming the jungle alone becomes a huge risk, as Spirit Breaker can initiate on her from anywhere with very little warning. Muerta is forced to play reactively, grouped with her team and relying on them for saves like stuns or a Force Staff. Meanwhile, Spirit Breaker gets to play his ideal game: seeing an enemy carry on the map, charging her, and creating a kill for his team. He dictates the tempo and forces her to play on his terms.
