Muerta vs Sven

How this matchup plays

Deciding between these two carries often comes down to how you see the late game playing out. The core of the matchup is a test of timing between their ultimates. When Muerta activates Pierce the Veil, she's immune to all of Sven's physical damage from God's Strength. This seems like a huge counter, but in her ethereal form, she takes extra damage from his magical Storm Hammer. For Sven, a well-timed stun can burst her down even while she's ghosted. It creates a standoff where both heroes have a way to deal with the other's main offensive tool, but also a key vulnerability.

The result is that teamfights between Muerta and Sven become a game of chicken. Sven needs to land his stun and kill her before she can react, or force her BKB early. If he uses his own BKB to run at her, she can wait it out with positioning or her own BKB and then pop Pierce the Veil to finish him off safely. Conversely, if Muerta ults too early, a prepared Sven can simply stun her and let his team finish the job. The fight depends entirely on who gets the jump and who misuses their longest cooldown first.
