Muerta vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can melt Tidehunter during Pierce the Veil is often a mistake. While Muerta’s ultimate turns her into a magical damage cannon, Tidehunter's raw durability and Kraken Shell let him withstand the initial burst. He can often shrug off the punishment long enough to either walk away or turn the fight with Ravage. The slow from Dead Shot is also unreliable, as Kraken Shell can dispel it. Muerta has the damage to threaten him, but he has the tools to survive her go-to combo, leading to a standoff where neither has a decisive advantage built into their kits.

The matchup often comes down to positioning and team support. Tidehunter will look to initiate with Ravage, hoping to catch Muerta before she can activate her ultimate and reposition. A successful stun usually means she's dead. In response, Muerta has to play patiently on the edge of fights, waiting for Tidehunter to commit his spells. If she can survive the initial jump, she has a good window to clean up the fight. It's a classic initiator versus glass cannon situation, where the outcome is less about the heroes themselves and more about whose team executes their game plan better.
