How this matchup plays

Choosing a purely physical brawler like Ursa into Muerta can be a calculated risk. The entire fight often hinges on Pierce the Veil, which completely negates Ursa's damage output for its duration. During this time, Ursa is forced to either run or reposition, unable to fight back. Muerta's other control spells like the fear from Dead Shot can also create space, though Ursa can use Enrage to shrug them off. Still, the fundamental problem of her physical immunity remains, forcing Ursa to play around a key cooldown.

This dynamic creates a cat-and-mouse game across the map. An Ursa with a Blink Dagger will constantly look for an opening to jump Muerta from the fog, trying to secure a kill before she can react with her ultimate. If Muerta survives the initial burst and activates Pierce the Veil, the fight reverses instantly. She can then freely attack a fleeing Ursa who has no way to trade damage. The outcome often depends less on the heroes' raw power and more on vision, positioning, and whose ultimate is available.
