Naga Siren vs Shadow Fiend

How this matchup plays

Controlling where Shadow Fiend can safely farm is the main point of friction here. Naga Siren sends illusions out to push lanes, which shrinks the map and forces him to show himself clearing waves. This makes him predictable and often vulnerable to ganks. If her illusions catch him alone, they can be a persistent nuisance, and a follow-up Ensnare can lock him down long enough for help to arrive. Naga's Song of the Siren also provides a way to reset a fight, which can disrupt the commitment of a big Requiem of Souls.

Shadow Fiend isn't helpless, though. He farms incredibly fast himself and can clear illusion waves with a few well-placed Shadowrazes. His goal is usually to get ahead enough to threaten Naga Siren directly or end the game before she gets too many items. The Naga player will try to avoid direct fights, instead using the map control from her illusions to secure objectives and starve him out. It becomes a game of tempo, with Naga's constant pressure giving her a slight upper hand in dictating the flow of the mid-game.
