Necrophos vs Outworld Destroyer

How this matchup plays

Controlling the lane against Outworld Destroyer gives Necrophos the tempo to take over the map. The constant drain from Heartstopper Aura makes it miserable for OD to farm, forcing him to use Astral Imprisonment for last hits, which costs a lot of mana. Necrophos can then bully him further with Death Pulse, eventually pushing him out of the lane entirely. This lets Necrophos secure a significant gold and experience lead while the Outworld Destroyer is stuck trying to catch up.

Even when OD gets his items, his pure damage from Arcane Orb often isn't enough to burst Necrophos down. Necro can use Ghost Shroud to avoid all physical attacks and massively amplify his healing, buying critical time for his team or to land a Reaper's Scythe. While a well-timed Astral Imprisonment can save someone from the Scythe, it doesn't solve the core problem: Necrophos is a durable front-liner who drains your team's health, and OD has a hard time killing him before he causes too much chaos.
