Necrophos vs Snapfire

How this matchup plays

Catching Snapfire with Reaper's Scythe is harder than it looks. She naturally plays from the back line, and her Firesnap Cookie provides a quick escape if Necrophos tries to close the distance. This means Necrophos can't easily rely on his Heartstopper Aura to wear her down before the ultimate. While Snapfire is fragile if caught, the long range of her own spells, especially Mortimer Kisses, lets her contribute to fights without ever getting close enough for Necrophos to target her easily. This forces him to depend on his teammates for a lockdown.

The mid and late game become a contest of positioning. Necrophos wants to wade into the fight to sustain his team and find a Scythe target, while Snapfire wants to stay on the fringes and bombard the area with her ultimate. A Necrophos with a Blink Dagger can make short work of her if he finds an opening. However, a well-played Snapfire can use her slows and stuns to kite him and keep him from ever getting into his effective range. Success for either hero often comes down to which team better sets up the fight for them.
