Necrophos vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Thinking Spirit Breaker can simply charge and eliminate Necrophos is a common trap. While Ghost Shroud does increase the magic damage taken from the initial combo, it's a trade Necrophos is happy to make. The ethereal form prevents all of Spirit Breaker’s follow-up physical attacks and slows him to a crawl, making it hard to disengage. All the while, Heartstopper Aura is draining Spirit Breaker's large health pool, and Death Pulse provides constant healing to survive the initial burst. The aggressor quickly finds himself the one in danger.

This pattern makes ganking Necrophos an exercise in frustration. What should be an easy kill often turns into Spirit Breaker overextending and dying instead. Once Reaper's Scythe is online, the situation becomes even worse for him. A low-health Spirit Breaker charging in is effectively delivering himself as a perfect target for the execute. He's forced to play passively around Necrophos, waiting for cooldowns or mistakes, which fundamentally goes against his role of creating chaos across the map.
