Shadow Fiend vs Riki

How this matchup plays

Trying to farm souls with Shadow Fiend feels impossible once Riki is active on the map. Riki closes the distance instantly with Blink Strike and immediately drops Smoke Screen. Inside that cloud, Shadow Fiend is silenced and misses his attacks, leaving him helpless. Since SF is so fragile and has no escape of his own, a single gank often means a death and the loss of half his Necromastery souls. This constant threat makes it incredibly difficult for him to establish the early farm and damage lead he needs.

This pressure doesn't let up as the game goes on. Riki will hunt Shadow Fiend across the map, punishing any attempt to farm a lane or jungle alone. SF is forced to invest heavily in Sentry Wards and play close to his team, slowing his own item progression. Even in teamfights, Riki excels at bursting a backline target. He can wait for SF to commit, dodge key spells with Tricks of the Trade, and then finish him off. Shadow Fiend's whole game becomes about surviving Riki's initial jump.
