Shadow Fiend vs Treant Protector

How this matchup plays

Trying to secure a lane as Shadow Fiend gets complicated when a Living Armor is active on his opponent. The extra regeneration and damage block from Treant Protector makes it much harder for SF to bully someone with right-clicks or Shadowrazes, slowing down his soul collection and early momentum. Later on, Overgrowth is a perfect setup tool to lock down a fragile hero like Shadow Fiend. A root from off-screen is often enough to get him killed before he can activate Black King Bar or cast his Requiem of Souls.

The whole game becomes a race against the clock. Treant Protector's goal is to enable ganks and shut down Shadow Fiend's farm, repeatedly delaying his key items. For SF, the game is about surviving until he gets that BKB. Once he has it, he gains a critical window to ignore Overgrowth and run at Treant's team. Success often comes down to which hero can better execute their plan: Treant by controlling the early and mid-game map, or SF by dodging pressure long enough to hit his timing and take over fights.
