Shadow Fiend vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Fighting into a big Tombstone can be a problem for Shadow Fiend. He needs to stand his ground to get maximum value from Requiem of Souls, but the zombies make that difficult. Their movement slow makes it harder for him to find the perfect position, and their sheer numbers can body block him or force him to waste attacks. While his Shadowrazes are good for clearing them out, that's time and mana he isn't spending on enemy heroes. The constant pressure from zombies and a potential Decay can wear him down before he gets his spells off.

The dynamic starts in the laning phase, where Undying can be a real bully, but it's the mid-game teamfights where this slight edge appears. A well-played Shadow Fiend will respect the Tombstone, using his range to clear it from a safe distance before committing to the fight. An Undying, in turn, will try to drop it right in the middle of everything to create chaos and overwhelm SF. The fight often hinges on who gets their key spell off first and in the better position, which keeps the matchup from being too one-sided.
