Night Stalker vs Primal Beast

How this matchup plays

Picking a big initiator like Primal Beast means you have to think about who can stop your charge. Night Stalker presents a specific problem with Crippling Fear. Primal Beast relies entirely on casting his spells in sequence to be effective—Onslaught in, then Trample and Uproar—but the area silence completely shuts this down. A charging Beast that suddenly can't use any abilities is a very vulnerable target. The advantage isn't huge because Primal Beast is naturally tough and can often survive the silence duration, especially if he gets Uproar off beforehand. It’s more of an interruption than a hard counter.

During the night, Night Stalker can proactively hunt and look to disable the Beast before a fight even starts. His goal is to find Primal Beast and apply that silence, neutralizing his teamfight contribution. For the Primal Beast player, this matchup becomes about timings. You either need to catch Night Stalker with Pulverize before he can react, or you have to build a Black King Bar to guarantee you can get your spells off. The game often pivots on whether the Beast can get his BKB before Night Stalker and his team create too much pressure.
