How this matchup plays

Drafting Puck into an enemy Night Stalker is asking for a difficult game. The fundamental problem is that Puck's entire survival kit revolves around casting spells in sequence to escape danger. Illusory Orb, Waning Rift, and Phase Shift are all disabled by Night Stalker's Crippling Fear. At night, Night Stalker has all the movement speed needed to close the distance and apply that silence. Once caught, Puck has no way to create distance or dodge the incoming physical damage, and can't even use a defensive item like a Eul's Scepter or Force Staff. It's a direct and crippling counter to Puck's core design.

This dynamic shapes the whole match. The first night cycle marks a massive power swing where Night Stalker can start actively hunting. A Puck that was previously controlling the mid lane is suddenly forced to play under their tower and concede map control. To find any farm or make plays, Puck becomes completely dependent on their team's vision and protection. All the while, the Night Stalker player knows they have a winning card; they can repeatedly dive and eliminate Puck to stall out their item progression and cripple their teamfight contribution, snowballing the game from there.
