Night Stalker vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Thinking Night Stalker can simply burst down a durable melee hero is a common mistake. Night Stalker's entire game plan revolves around using his nighttime power spike to isolate and delete a single target with Crippling Fear and his high attack speed. The problem is that Wraith King is designed to nullify this exact strategy. Even if Night Stalker commits his entire kit, including his ultimate, to secure a kill, Wraith King’s Reincarnation brings him right back. This completely drains Night Stalker's momentum and leaves him out of position with all his abilities on cooldown.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Night Stalker into a difficult position. Attempting to gank Wraith King after he gets his ultimate is a massive waste of time and resources; it's like using your biggest cooldown for a long stun. This means Night Stalker has to ignore the enemy frontliner, but Wraith King is happy to absorb the attention and walk at Night Stalker's team anyway. As Wraith King gets tankier, he becomes a raid boss that Night Stalker has no real answer for, turning what should be prime hunting time into a frustrating exercise in futility.
