Night Stalker vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Thinking one of these global hunters has a big edge over the other is a common trap. Their kits actually trade blows quite evenly. Spirit Breaker’s Charge of Darkness gives his team warning of an incoming Night Stalker, and he can use it to turn a gank around. Conversely, if Night Stalker gets the jump, his Crippling Fear can interrupt the charge. The problem is that Spirit Breaker's status resistance from Bulldoze often lets him shrug off the initial disable and start fighting back immediately. They both want to run at single targets, and they frequently end up running at each other.

The whole game becomes a standoff, especially once the first night hits. Neither hero gets to play their ideal aggressive game. Night Stalker can’t dive a support without expecting a charging Spirit Breaker to show up and punish him. At the same time, Spirit Breaker knows that if he starts a fight, Night Stalker might be right around the corner, waiting to fly in with a silence. It forces both players into a more reactive role, waiting for the other to commit first instead of dictating the pace themselves.
