Nyx Assassin vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Hunting for a lone Silencer can feel like a trap. Nyx Assassin has the burst to kill him, but Silencer's entire kit is designed to punish exactly that kind of aggression. A quick Vendetta strike into Impale can be immediately stopped by Last Word, silencing Nyx mid-combo and leaving him vulnerable. Even if Nyx gets his spells off, a fast reaction with Global Silence can shut down his follow-up or any help from his teammates, turning a would-be pickoff into a failed gank. This makes Silencer one of the more dangerous targets for Nyx to try and assassinate.

The matchup often boils down to a game of cooldowns and positioning. Nyx Assassin will want to strike when Global Silence has been used, forcing him to be patient and track its availability. In response, Silencer has to play more cautiously, sticking with his team and using their vision to avoid getting caught out. The better-played hero isn't the one with the stronger kit, but the one who better respects the other's threat. Whoever gets caught with their key defensive or offensive spell on cooldown is likely to lose the engagement.
