Nyx Assassin vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Undying from invisibility often feels like a waste of a cooldown. As a strength hero, Undying is naturally durable, and each cast of Decay makes him an even worse target for Nyx Assassin's burst combo. Mana Burn also finds limited value against his respectable health and mana pool, unlike when used on a fragile intelligence support. For his part, Undying struggles to lock down and kill a slippery Nyx who has Spiked Carapace ready for zombie swarms and Vendetta to simply walk away. Neither hero has a clean way to neutralize the other.

This dynamic means they tend to operate on different planes throughout the game. Nyx Assassin will almost always prioritize hunting Undying’s softer teammates, leaving the big zombie to be handled by cores. In teamfights, Nyx looks for openings on the back line, while Undying focuses on dropping a disruptive Tombstone and wading in with Flesh Golem. They don't effectively stop each other from executing their game plan, and neither really enables their team to shut the other down. The matchup depends far more on how they each impact the other eight heroes in the game.
