Nyx Assassin vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Activating Spiked Carapace turns Vengeful Spirit's own initiation against her. A Magic Missile or Nether Swap targeting the Nyx Assassin will backfire, stunning Venge instead. This forces a standoff where she can’t safely use her lockdown. On the other hand, Venge isn't helpless. Wave of Terror provides vision that can expose Nyx during Vendetta, foiling his gank attempts before they begin. This direct trade of counters makes it hard for either hero to establish a consistent upper hand.

The game then becomes a battle of vision and patience. Nyx Assassin wants to find a solo Vengeful Spirit, but her Nether Swap can easily turn a gank around if a teammate is nearby. In larger fights, Venge has to try and bait the Spiked Carapace before committing a stun, while Nyx is waiting for that exact moment. Since Vengeance Aura provides damage even after death, picking off Venge isn't a clean win. Success often comes down to who has better detection and who blinks first.
