Outworld Destroyer vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Picking a low-Intelligence hero into Outworld Destroyer presents a fundamental problem. Weaver's naturally low Intelligence makes him especially vulnerable to Sanity's Eclipse, which deals more damage the bigger the Intelligence gap is between OD and his target. This threat exists at all stages of the game. On top of that, Astral Imprisonment is a reliable way to hold the slippery Weaver in place, setting up for that ultimate or for allied stuns. Even if Weaver tries to burst a support, a well-timed Astral can save them, completely foiling his attempt to get a quick kill.

The matchup often comes down to Weaver's ability to dodge and react. He has to use Shukuchi to stay mobile and avoid getting caught by Astral Imprisonment. If Outworld Destroyer does manage to land his full combo, Weaver's only escape is a fast Time Lapse to rewind the damage. This makes the fight very execution-dependent for the Weaver player, while OD's game plan is more straightforward. A single mistake from Weaver can be fatal, which gives Outworld Destroyer a consistent, if not overwhelming, advantage in teamfights.
