Ogre Magi vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Trying to jump a backline hero as Pangolier is already risky, but it becomes a nightmare against an Ogre Magi. A single point-and-click Fireblast is enough to stop Swashbuckle in its tracks, and a Multicast stun will leave Pangolier completely helpless for a long time. Even if he survives the initial lockdown, Ogre's natural tankiness lets him absorb the physical burst, and the Ignite slow makes escaping nearly impossible. Pangolier relies on getting in, doing his damage, and getting out; Ogre Magi's kit is built to interrupt that pattern at every step.

Across the game, Pangolier is forced to play cautiously. He can’t initiate freely with Rolling Thunder because Ogre is waiting to chain-stun him the moment it ends. This forces Pangolier into buying defensive items earlier than he’d like, delaying his damage output. Ogre’s job is simple: stay near his own core and be ready to disable Pangolier on sight. It's no surprise they don't play well together either; Ogre wants to hold an enemy in place, while Rolling Thunder often knocks them to safety.
