Ogre Magi vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Getting hooked by Pudge is often a bad outcome for Ogre Magi, but rarely a fatal one. Ogre's natural tankiness allows him to survive the initial burst and turn on Pudge with Fireblast and Ignite. A Pudge who wastes his hook and Dismember on a fat Ogre can find himself out of position and kited to death. The real problem arises when Pudge ignores Ogre entirely. Against a hook on a more vulnerable core, Ogre offers very little protection. His single-target stun is a decent interrupt, but it's often not enough to save an ally who gets pulled out of position and dismembered.

This makes the matchup a game of positioning and target selection. Pudge's goal is to find angles on Ogre Magi's teammates, using Ogre's own body as a screen to land a decisive hook. Ogre's job is to play bodyguard, using his high health pool to block hooks and control the space around his carries. The outcome of any given gank or teamfight often comes down to which hero executes their role better. It's less about a direct hero counter and more about which player can better dictate the engagement.
