Ogre Magi vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Choosing Ogre Magi often means you're looking to burst down a key enemy, but that plan falls apart against Wraith King. Ogre's entire burst rotation, even with a big Multicast on Fireblast, is usually only enough to trigger Reincarnation. After he's spent his mana and cooldowns, Wraith King gets back up at full health. This leaves Ogre without his main tools right when the fight is turning, essentially turning a gank attempt into a losing trade where the primary target gets a second life.

This dynamic shapes the whole game. An Ogre Magi will find that rotating on Wraith King is often a waste of time, as he can't be killed twice before his team can respond. The Ogre player has to shift focus entirely, trying to delete WK's squishier teammates instead. Meanwhile, Wraith King can play much more aggressively, knowing Ogre can't effectively peel for his own cores. WK is free to run at the real threats on the enemy team, confident that his own ultimate neutralizes Ogre's main contribution to a fight.
