Ogre Magi vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a target with Charge of Darkness is often met with a Fireblast from Ogre Magi. This can stop Spirit Breaker's entire gank attempt right in its tracks, especially if Ogre gets a multicast and chains stuns together. It allows the initial target to reposition and turn the fight. On the other hand, Spirit Breaker can use Bulldoze to gain status resistance, which shortens the stun duration and might give him enough time to land a Greater Bash or use Nether Strike. This back-and-forth makes the direct engagement between them very dependent on timing and luck.

Across the game, Spirit Breaker is forced to be much more selective with his charges. Going on a hero standing next to Ogre is a calculated risk, as the tables can be turned instantly. Ogre Magi is also a very poor charge target himself due to his natural tankiness, which forces Spirit Breaker to take risks on other heroes. The success of a gank often comes down to whether Spirit Breaker's allies can follow up before Ogre can peel, or if Spirit Breaker can bait out the stun first, giving neither hero a clear edge.
