Ogre Magi vs Visage

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Visage with spells is often a losing battle for Ogre Magi. Gravekeeper's Cloak absorbs the initial impact damage from Fireblast and Ignite, which are Ogre's primary tools for locking down and killing a target. This makes it extremely difficult for Ogre to secure a solo kill on Visage, even with a lucky multicast. The constant damage-over-time and slow from Ignite still wears Visage down, but the immediate threat is significantly reduced. Ogre Magi also has no efficient way to clear out the familiars, leaving his team vulnerable to their sustained damage and stuns.

Across the game, this dynamic forces Ogre Magi into a more defensive role. He can’t reliably initiate on Visage, so his job becomes peeling for whichever teammate Visage and his gargoyles decide to dive. If Ogre gets caught out, he has little answer to the birds himself. Visage, on the other hand, still has to respect Ogre's potential for chain-stunning with multicasts during a teamfight. He can't simply ignore him, but he also isn't directly countered by him, making it a very neutral exchange where neither hero invalidates the other's game plan.
