How this matchup plays

Saving a teammate from Meat Hook seems straightforward for Omniknight, but it's a real toss-up in practice. While Heavenly Grace can instantly dispel the Rot slow and its status resistance shortens Dismember's duration, it can't be cast while stunned. If Pudge hooks Omniknight himself, there's no escape. The core of the interaction is a race: Omniknight must cast his spell on an ally during the brief travel time of the hook, before Dismember's lockdown begins. Pudge's success depends entirely on his target priority and whether he can land a hook before Omniknight is in position to react.

As the game progresses, this dynamic becomes a team-wide positioning puzzle. A well-played Omniknight will shadow his most valuable core, making them an unappealing target for Pudge. In response, Pudge will often shift his focus to picking off Omniknight first, removing the defensive threat entirely. Late-game fights often hinge on this specific interaction. Even Guardian Angel doesn't completely solve the problem, as it offers no protection against the pure damage of a full-duration Dismember, making the initial save from Heavenly Grace that much more critical.
