Omniknight vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Seeing a Charge of Darkness coming, it feels like Heavenly Grace should be the perfect answer. The difficulty is that the stun from the charge is often the beginning, not the end, of Spirit Breaker's attack. He can follow up with Nether Strike, which lands its stun through spell immunity, or simply rely on his other stuns to keep a target locked down. This means an Omniknight save often only buys a brief moment, as Spirit Breaker is built to re-engage and stick to a target. He makes it difficult for Omniknight to create the clean separation his allies need to escape.

This pressure forces Omniknight to play reactively for most of the game. Spirit Breaker sets the tempo by choosing his targets across the map, and Omniknight has to have spells ready. In teamfights, the Spirit Breaker player will try to find a key hero and eliminate them before Guardian Angel can be used. In response, Omniknight has to anticipate the target to get his protection off in time, or position himself so he isn't the one getting jumped. If Spirit Breaker can consistently force out the big ultimate on a single-target gank, he's doing his job.
