Omniknight vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Picking Omniknight into a Viper means betting on your dispel. Heavenly Grace can completely cleanse an ally of Viper's crippling slows and damage from Viper Strike, turning a kill attempt around. However, the trade-off cuts both ways. Omniknight’s ultimate, Guardian Angel, is negated since it only protects from physical attacks, leaving his team exposed to Viper’s magical damage. Viper can also use Nethertoxin to break passives like Degen Aura, reducing Omniknight's ambient control. This direct clash of abilities makes for a very even exchange where neither hero has a clear upper hand.

The result is a constant duel over cooldowns. Later in the game, Viper’s goal is to bait out Heavenly Grace before committing Viper Strike to a key target. Omniknight, in turn, has to hold his spell for that exact moment. The game often hinges on this exchange. If Viper forces the dispel early, he can secure a crucial kill. If Omniknight times his save, he neutralizes Viper's main threat. This back-and-forth is why the outcome so often feels dependent on which player better executes their plan.
