Pangolier vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a Pudge as Pangolier often feels like hitting a brick wall. The raw health from Flesh Heap means Pudge can usually stand his ground through a full Swashbuckle combo and then threaten back with Rot. Pangolier's main survival tool, Rolling Thunder, grants spell immunity that stops Dismember, but it doesn't make him invincible. The entire interaction can come down to a single Meat Hook, which pierces that immunity and will stop the roll cold if it connects. It’s a high-skill play that can completely turn a gank or teamfight around.

This creates a tense cat-and-mouse game. Pangolier wants to use his superior mobility to poke from a safe distance and bait out the hook, while Pudge is constantly looking for an angle to land it. If Pudge misses his hook, Pangolier has a wide-open window to roll in and cause chaos. But if the hook lands, Pangolier is almost certainly dead, as Pudge can follow up with Dismember and allies can pile on. The matchup often hinges on which player can better predict the other's movement and cooldowns.
