Pangolier vs Skywrath Mage

Getting caught by a Skywrath Mage is a death sentence for most heroes, and Pangolier is no exception. An instant silence from Ancient Seal completely shuts down Pangolier's mobility, leaving him unable to Swashbuckle away or use Shield Crash to survive the incoming Mystic Flare. A Pangolier who can't press his buttons is a very dead Pangolier. On the other hand, Pangolier is built to close gaps and disrupt fragile backliners. If he can dodge that initial silence, he can get on top of Skywrath Mage with ease and burst him down before he can react.

The matchup often comes down to who gets the jump. Pangolier will try to bait out the silence or wait for it to be used on an ally before committing with Swashbuckle or Rolling Thunder. Skywrath needs to hold his ground and land that Ancient Seal at the perfect moment to stop the aggression.
