Pangolier vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Trying to roll through a teamfight as Pangolier is a nightmare when a Slardar is on the other team. Pangolier relies on his high base armor and damage reduction from Shield Crash to survive while causing chaos. Slardar’s Corrosive Haze completely negates this strength by shredding his armor, making him incredibly fragile to physical attacks from the whole enemy team. On top of that, Slithereen Crush is a reliable, instant stun that can easily interrupt Rolling Thunder or stop a Swashbuckle escape, holding Pangolier in place to be finished off.

This dynamic forces the Pangolier to play a much more cautious game. Once Slardar gets a Blink Dagger, he can initiate from anywhere, and Pangolier is often his primary target because the lockdown and armor reduction is so effective. The Pangolier has to build defensively and position far more carefully than usual, waiting for Slardar to use his abilities on someone else before he can contribute. The pressure is always on the Pangolier to dodge the initial stun, while Slardar can comfortably wait for his moment to strike.
