Phoenix vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Dropping Supernova on a slow-moving target like Wraith King seems like a clear winning play. The attack speed slow from Fire Spirits makes it incredibly difficult for him to destroy the sun on his own. The catch is Reincarnation. Phoenix might win the initial engagement by forcing Wraith King's first life, but then he returns to the fight at full strength while Supernova is on a very long cooldown. It effectively resets the fight in his favor, turning Phoenix's biggest strength into a temporary setback.

This fight-reset dynamic defines the matchup. Early on, Phoenix can make laning miserable for Wraith King with constant burn damage. Later, it becomes a high-stakes game of timing. Wraith King's team will try to bait out the Supernova and then re-engage once he revives. Phoenix's side has to commit everything to killing him twice, or more realistically, catch him when Reincarnation is already on cooldown.
