Phoenix vs Snapfire

How this matchup plays

Breaking a Supernova egg often comes down to a race of attack speed, which means Snapfire’s Lil' Shredder gives her a direct way to threaten Phoenix. She can often destroy the sun on her own if she gets to stand and shoot it. However, Phoenix is well aware of this and can cripple her output before he even commits. A full load of Fire Spirits will massively slow her attack speed, making it much harder for her to finish the job before the stun lands. This core tension of high attack speed versus a powerful attack slow defines most of their interactions.

The outcome of a teamfight then depends entirely on positioning and execution. Snapfire wants to hang back, wait for the dive, and be ready to open fire on the egg from a safe distance. Phoenix, in turn, will be looking for a chance to dive past the front line to disrupt Snapfire or force her out before he uses his ultimate. A good Mortimer Kisses can also zone Phoenix or force him to pop Supernova in a bad spot. Success for either hero is conditional on their team’s support and the flow of the fight, leading to a very balanced matchup.
