Phoenix vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can outmaneuver Phoenix with Shukuchi is a common trap for Weaver players. Weaver's brand of slipperiness is great for dodging targeted spells, but Phoenix's entire kit is designed to control large areas over time. Getting clipped by even one Fire Spirit is enough to cripple Weaver's attack speed, making it impossible for him to trade effectively. Sun Ray is also incredibly difficult to shake; its slow turning speed can still track a Shukuchi path, and the constant pressure often forces an early Time Lapse or a full retreat.

Teamfights are even worse for Weaver. The moment Supernova is cast, he often becomes a non-factor. He lacks the high, sustained physical damage needed to destroy the egg, and the massive attack speed slow makes trying a pointless effort anyway. This forces him to retreat far outside the radius, effectively removing him from the fight until the stun goes off. A Weaver has to play reactively, waiting for Phoenix to commit his ultimate elsewhere before he can safely join the fray. Without specific teammates who can burst down the egg, he is completely zoned out by a single spell.
