Primal Beast vs Riki

How this matchup plays

Catching an elusive hero like Riki is the main problem for Primal Beast. Riki's Smoke Screen can silence and blind the Beast, shutting down his spellcasting and physical damage. He can also dodge the Onslaught charge with Blink Strike or go invulnerable with Tricks of the Trade. However, Primal Beast is incredibly difficult for a hero like Riki to bring down alone. Uproar grants a massive amount of armor, blunting Riki’s attacks, and the area damage from Trample can hit Riki even when he's trying to be slippery. A successful Pulverize is usually fatal for Riki, but his whole kit is built to avoid being caught in the first place.

Because neither hero can reliably kill the other solo, the matchup often comes down to team execution. During the laning phase, Riki is more of an annoyance than a direct threat to Primal Beast's life. In larger teamfights, the outcome depends entirely on which hero gets the better initiation. If Riki’s allies provide setup, he can wear Primal down. But if Primal Beast's team brings detection and he can land his spells, he can often delete Riki before the fight truly begins. It all hinges on who has the vision advantage and the better backup.
